Part 4: Crossroads

“Are You Married to a Fool?”

1 Samuel 25:2-38
Who would truly admit to marrying a fool? Usually, there are signs that we tend to ignore before marriage because we are so determined to get married.  In some situation, the marriage is saved and everything works out. To God be the glory. Unfortunately, there are situation that may cause you to say, Why did I marry this fool!” Maybe the responds would be, “I married this fool but, he/she is my fool and I am going to do what it takes to make it work”. This brings us to the next point regarding Abigail and Nabal.  Abigail did what she thought was best for her family when her husband Nabal was to foolish to comprehend the dangers his family faced. David could have easily destroyed Nabal's entire family.
What do you think are some of the reason Abigail married Nabal? Do you think it was for love or was it for the love of money?
Which point can you relate to?
Resist Marrying for the Wrong Reason – Make sure when you get married that you do it for the right reasons.
Refuse to be Controlled by Feelings – Don’t let your emotions cause you to snap. Do you remember what caused Moses not to enter the promise land? Moses let his emotions cause him to hit the rock in anger, because of his actions he did not enter the promise land. Number 20:11&12.
Rise Up and Fight  - Abigail  rose up and fought for her family. She could have been killed. She move by faith and the outcome was in her favor.
Release Your Fool to the Lord – Only God can change a person’s heart. All we can do it pray for that person and release him/her to the Lord.  God will bless us tremendously if we seek Him in all things.
