Crossroads – What do I do now? PART 1

“LIVING THROUGH A LET DOWN” Matthew 11:1-6

How many of you can relate to Pastor Hamilton’s message? Have you ever had a parent that had to work instead of going to your big performance in a school play? How about quitting a job when you had the confidence that your interview with another job went well?  Later you find out that someone else was more qualified than you, therefore leaving you completely out of a job.

Perhaps, John misunderstood the way he believed Jesus’ agenda should’ve been administered.  John preached for people to repent for the kingdom of heaven was at hand (Matthew 3:2) . He was imprisoned for telling Herod the truth. (Mark 6:17-18). While John was in jail, Jesus was still healing the sick and give sight to the blind. Jesus sent word to John by his disciples as to what they saw and heard. “And blessed is he who does not take offense at Me.”  (Matthew 11:6)

Which point can you say is most relevant in your life?
  •          Serving doesn’t keep you from suffering
  •          Speak truthfully to the Savior
  •          Surrender to God’s way of working it out
As we live through this thing called life, you will experience some kind of let down. The question is do you give up when you feel you have been “letdown” or do you press forward through the “letdown”.

"Serving doesn't keep me from suffering" is way too deep. It's the kind of truth that you don't want to hear but you have to respect. So many spiritual cliches have Christians confused to the point that they believe if they follow God's word that life would be a cake walk. Yet if we as Christians are to emulate Christ we ought to expect struggles and trials and be worried of the contrary.
